Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Financial Runway iPhone app ("Runway", "we", "us") handles, and why.

1. Your financial data stays on your device

Everything you enter into Runway stays on your iPhone. That includes cash balances, income and expense entries, loans, subscriptions, budgets, forecasts, goals and notes.

• Your financial data is stored in a local database encrypted with AES-256.
• The encryption key is generated on your device and kept in the iOS Keychain.
• It is not sent to us or to any server, and we cannot read it.

App preferences, such as your language, currency, whether you finished onboarding and whether Pro is unlocked, are kept in standard app storage on your iPhone. They contain no amounts or other financial data.

Runway has no sign-in, no user account and no cloud sync.

2. Anonymous usage analytics

Runway uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used, so we can improve it. Analytics never includes any amount, balance, name, note or other financial content.

Runway does not send any custom analytics events of its own. Firebase collects its standard usage events automatically, such as the first time the app is opened, when a session starts and how long the app is in use.

Firebase also collects standard technical information: a random app instance identifier, device model, iOS version, app version, language, approximate country or region derived from your IP address, and session information such as first open and app engagement time.

This information is not linked to your identity. Runway does not use the advertising identifier, does not ask for tracking permission, and does not use analytics for advertising.

3. Purchases

Runway Pro is a one-time in-app purchase.

• Apple processes the payment under your Apple Account. We never receive your payment card or billing details.
• RevenueCat verifies purchases and restores them. It receives a random anonymous app user identifier, your purchase and transaction records, your device type, iOS and app version, country and IP address.

4. Fonts

The first time Runway runs, it may download the Inter and JetBrains Mono typefaces from Google Fonts servers, which receive your IP address as part of that request. No other information is sent. See the Google Privacy Policy.

5. What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent or share your information for advertising.
• We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• We do not connect to your bank or read your financial accounts.
• We do not request your contacts, location, photos, camera or microphone.

6. Keeping and deleting your data

Your financial data stays on your device until you delete it. You can erase it at any time in Settings under Delete all data, or by deleting Runway from your iPhone. Either way the encrypted database and its key are permanently removed. Because we never receive your financial data, we have no copy of it and cannot recover it.

Anonymous analytics are kept according to Google Analytics data retention settings and are not linked to you. Purchase records are kept by Apple and RevenueCat so that Pro can be restored.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information. Runway does not hold your financial data, and analytics and purchase records are not linked to your identity. If you have a question or request, contact us using the details below.

8. Children

Runway is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
